Last month one of our members showed us all how to make a Lone Star quilt that did not need any inset seams. Obviously, this appealed to most of us, cos yesterday at show and tell, just look at this. There were a couple of others that aren't shown here, but 14 quilts from a group as small as ours, is quite something.
Isn't it amazing just how different they all looked, with their different colours, borders and quilting? Thanks again Liz for a brilliant demonstration, which obviously inspired most of us to have a go.
PS I forgot to thank Scrappy for the photo I've used. Thank you very much for being much more efficient than I was and actually taking photos.
That's the art of quiltmaking. They are all beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThat's so cool. Lone Star quilts are at the top of my husbands list and I have yet to make one! I like the size of those quilts.
ReplyDeleteGlad you didn't get stuck in a parking lot this time!
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful, a wonderful collection. I "think" I can guess which one is yours - are you going to tell?
ReplyDeleteThey all look fantastic, I love seeing class results as everyone has a different interpretation on a pattern through their choice of colours.
ReplyDeleteGuess where I'd like to be? Seeing those beautiful quilts in person and meeting such a talented group of girls. Well done to all. Have a good week and take care.
ReplyDeleteHow fun to see so many! You obviously had a good teacher that made you all want to make one:-)
ReplyDeletea good photo Scrappy took they look so good all together, got mine out yesterday to see if it cold be saved, have done 2 and neither worked very well but put the borders on and they hide some of the errors!
ReplyDeleteThose all turned out so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteMaybe you can give us a little tutorial? Love them all...thanks for showing.
