(in four colours only, of course), but deep in my heart I know I'm mad. So, can anyone please talk me out of this?
By the way, who's remembered what's happening on Saturday? Yes, it's Christmas Quiltalong day. Is it me, or are they coming round more often than once a month?

ReplyDeleteI have had trouble with the bias edges on this block. So, my advice is to starch, starch, starch the fabric before you cut. Will be watching to see how you do.

Aren't there enough UFO's in your closet to even think of starting another one, let alone one that isn't exactly 'easy-peasy'? Oops....sorry I was looking in the mirror and just got kind of carried away.

ReplyDeleteI would love to make one in rainbow colors or shades of blue. Do you have time for this project? I say go for it. Even if you have to stretch it out a bit. Do a bit of shopping now, cut a little later, and then start sewing it all together. Otherwise wait to start cutting until after all your Christmas sewing is done. No need to put too much pressure on yourself, right?

ReplyDeleteWell as long as you show us, not ask us to do it, that's fine - carry on! It does work well with four colours, doesn't it? For me, that would make a good table cloth - although I'd have to make it spaghetti bolognase colour so it didn't show the spills!
ReplyDeleteYep, all ready for QAL Saturday - hurrah! - except a bit panicked as I haven't re-done the railfence blocks yet....but I'm dying to finish my Pick Four quilt which has priority...
(PS can't call my quilt 'Pick Four Quilt' as I will soon be doing other designs from the book, then what would I call them...??)
I've wanted to make one of these since I first admired quilts and thought about making them thirty years ago or so. I would love to watch you take on the challenge.

Why wouldn't you want to make it? I've done one so I'm quite sure you'll have no trouble (but I recommend spray starch ....... )

It will be my first ever and I cannot wait to get it finished. Shhhh, I am not saying anything on my blog about it til it's done!

You will be amazed how simple it is...if you are using the strip method of cutting the diamond segments
ReplyDeleteSue, I have an ancient UFO of one of these quilts. I suspect that I began it as far back as 1990 or thereabouts. If you do go to work on one, then I just might be compelled to drag out my old project and see what I can do with it. I will say that I have used many more than 4 colors. But it will still be pretty. We could encourage each other!
