An Anniversary and a challenge

Last weekend we celebrated our 48th wedding anniversary by spending the weekend in London.  I contacted the hotel beforehand to ask if they offered any sort of upgrade, and they definitely did.  We were upgraded to a deluxe room, which was huge with a lovely sofa, a Nespresso machine and lovely toiletries and in the room was an anniversary card with a plate of macarons.  Sorry, no photo as we ate them!  On Saturday we were out for the day, and when we got back to the hotel, we found this in our room.

Today Scrappy has been here and we had a great day with no sewing, lots of chatting and some fabric stroking.  I had a bag of scraps to give her, and Scrappy wasted no time in tipping it out to see what was in there and to fold and stroke it all.  There was this little piece of orange in there, and she was thinking it might be too small, even for her and was going to throw it away, so I've challenged her to use it.  I can't wait to see what she does with it. With friends like me, who needs enemies?

  5. Psssss. Nancie! It's okay, Sue's not listening. Thanks for the great idea. A thought popped straight into my head when Sue challenged me, but if it doesn't work out, I've got snowmen to fall back on! xx

I *love* that card - must firtle around online and see if I can find one. 25 years for us this year (yikes, how on earth did that happen) plus a big b/day with a Zero for Management.

  16. 48 years is great! And you still look 35! I've been telling people I am 35 for so long that I am even starting to believe it now. Love the idea of the orange fabric challenge. Sounds like a fun thing to do at my next retreat.

  19. Happy Anniversary, wow you are doing well. Hope the London stay was just great. It's our 38th this year, but then we were both married before. Those strawberries look great, but I'll tell you, they are rather bothersome to do. Chocolate gets everywhere, but is good to lick your fingers.
