So how does this work then ...

... this weekend I decided it was time to write the Christmas cards.

I got the cards out, I printed off all the addresses, I put them all on the table and went off to make coffee.  Along comes Mr Fixit, who sees the cards and says "Oh great.  I'll just write mine first, then you can do yours."

Mr Fixit writes cards to 3 particular friends of his. So can you explain to me how come the ones I write to everyone else, friends or family, are "mine"?

Bilbo told me today that I have to put a photo of my Christmas tree on my blog, so here it is.  It actually looks far better in real life.  The lights are all small, so they are not showing up properly in the picture.

Here is a picture of my new "Christmas tree" too.  I went out to buy a small tree to put in the bay window in the lounge.  This is what I came home with!

  3. I have to tell you...you are so lucky he helped with that much! For some reason my husband feels it is my duty to insure not only holiday cards are sent out but the b-day cards to his family are bought as well! I have to force him to write a one liner before I seal them up and I mail them!

  4. lol hmm, makes me appreciate my relative sigularity! I send few cards, and even then I find it a distressing task! Love you 'new' tree :) perhaps I need one of those for the Diva!

  6. My husband will do all cards that don't require a message. If a card requires a message, it becomes my responsibility.

  7. This is too spooky - not only do we both have gold & red trees, but I think we have the same baubles!! Lovely to talk to you last night, still haven't found that damn book!

As for the Christmas cards, it's called "being married", I thought you knew that by now. At some point over the weekend Management will ask me "have WE sent a card to ... [insert name of one of HIS relatives] ?"

That would be the Royal we, then?

  9. Lovely tree with red and gold, very striking. The slim tree is very modern and very sleek. Thank you for sharing.

Have a super good sewing and stitching day.

  11. I gave up sending Christmas cards a long time ago. And most people we know have too. I do miss the pretty cards but it was just getting too expensive.

  13. Our Christmas card list gets shorter every year--know how I know??? I still have remnants of a box of Christmas cards from last year and I sent some of those out again this year---maybe next year I'll finish that box!
