Lone Star QAL day - post 1

I couldn't wait for you lot in the USA to wake up, so I started without you.  When you sleepyheads are ready, pop in to our hostess Jayne, here, to sign up with Mr Linky and then we'll look forward to hearing how you're getting on too.

I've just finished making my first strip-set, look.  All pressed, and this photo is just for Bilbo, aka Queen of the Spray-Starch Can.

  1. This sleepyhead in the US is up...but not fully awake. Maybe I can use some of that spray starch on my hair so I don't look like such a wreck! Your strips are coming together nicely. Wish I had the time to make this design too.

  2. Way to Go! Look at you. :-) With you fabric waiting, on you now, I'm surprised you could stand to wait until today.

  3. So breath-holding time for the cutting stage next?

    All looking good!

  4. It's looking good so far! I've also dusted off my starch can!

  5. If you haven't already done so, She Who Uses LOTS of Spray Starch would suggest you put an old towel over your ironing board and be prepared to give the floor a quick wipe with a damp something-or-another when you've finished. Old towels can be washed and changed far easier than ironing board covers!

And you're a very bright girl so you don't need to Ask Me How I Know To Do This

  6. I love your enthusiasm. I'll be watching your progress and hoping for inspiration.

  7. Enthusiasm is right, Joanna! Sue, I love the strip set; these colors are going to be smashing when they're all put together. Sorry I've been missing in action this morning. I woke up with a really awful head cold or upper respiratory infection, and I could barely function until noon! I am headed to the store next for some meds. I should have been prepared as DH had it a few days ago and even missed a day of work (he NEVER misses). Hope everyone understands! Go, go, go on your stitching!

Hey, another area where we have uncanny similarities: I took a pic of my pressing with the starch bottle in the pic, too. Decided not to use it, but now I think I'm gonna!! lol!

  8. I had a project that just has to get out. My daughter and I spent all day yesterday working on it. Still working on it. So I couldn't join in on the fun. Next time for sure! I will pop over to Jayne and the other folks though and see how it went!
