The weather has really spoiled the apple season here too. Our own orchard produced just 3 apples and one pear. We picked this past weekend at a local orchard and they said their crop was a third of normal.
Funny! We harvested our apples today too. We got 9, but a deer had eaten half of one of them. So 8 apples is our harvest. I think I will make an apple crisp with them. :)
Last year we had one lime on our tree, and the squirrels got it before we did. This year we have had about 18 or 19 limes. I actually hung some wind chimes on the branches to keep the squirrels from helping themselves :-)
This is exactly what my dear little Meyer Lemon Tree does. Of course it didn't start it's yearly miserable harvest until I discovered just how yummy the juice was in my tea.
The apple harvest was pretty much the same here. No one had extra apples to give away. I have noticed the apple prices in the store are higher than usual too. I love apples and apple pie is my DH's fav.
Just one?

ReplyDeleteI guess you could make one delicious baked apple instead of an apple pie! Kind of like making lemonade out of lemons?..giggle! Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteLOL.. Well our trees didn't produce any apples this year so in my eyes you have a huge harvest!

ReplyDeleteJust weird weather going on everywhere...but it is a cute little apple!
ReplyDeleteApple pie... apple cider... apple salad... the possibilities are endless! LOL :)
ReplyDeleteWell, I'm sure it's a good one. Maybe next year will yield a better harvest.
ReplyDeleteopps! I hope you weren't planning on making pie.
ReplyDeletePlenty of apples in Brittany Sue, but none of them edible. Now if you're a lover of cider, that's a different story :-)
ReplyDeleteluv...Ann
Well done for just the one. Poor harvests everywhere this year, won't be long before the prices start to rise accordingly :{
ReplyDeleteI was thinking the same as BilboWaggins, poor harvests = higher prices. I do hope your apple tasted just as sweet as ever.
ReplyDeleteHa, ha, that's funny...it looks like my tomato crop this year. I hope you really enjoy that apple! Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteLOL, you had three more than I did!

ReplyDeleteBummer. Well, enjoy that one tiny one! :)

ReplyDeleteWe had 2 off the tree in the garden and there's 3 on the tree down at the allotment, a whole 50% more than last year!
