I made it by cutting strips from different fabrics, sewing them together and then sewing them into a tube, cutting rings from the tube and opening them up at various places on the rings and then slicing and inserting them. I really had fun with this.
Sorry. Did I just read that you used FOURTEEN fabrics?? Sue?
ReplyDeleteTo Scrappy - yes, Sue told me on the phone earlier that she'd used FOURTEEN fabrics and I nearly passed out with shock.
ReplyDeleteLooks rather good though :-) You've been a tremendously bad influence on her, congratulations! Hope we can meet one day.
Jane, Sue used the words 'scrappy' and 'random' in the same sentence yesterday so I reckon the prognosis is promising!
DeleteMy goodness, what is happening to you? Machine quilting without Bertha, and now scrappy piecing? Love the block, by the way.
ReplyDeleteOh my...you are living on the edge my dear. What is your next adventure?
ReplyDeleteHehe I got a kick out of the other comments!! I can tell you did have fun Sue :-) So freeing isn't it! Now you can start practicing the modern quilting in those spaces.
ReplyDeletewatch out Scrappy you will not be getting any more scraps if this takes off. Sue I will be picking your brain tomorrow for more details as really like this idea.
ReplyDeleteYou will be turning into a Scrappy quilter! 14 fabrics in one block......way to go!
ReplyDeleteI'm still trying to figure out how you did it, but it looks gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteI do like that block. Wonder what a whole quilt would look like?
