Well it can. I managed to try and quilt my finger! I just missed the nail but went through my finger. It hurt, but I was very brave and luckily I didn't break the needle.
It did put a stop to my FMQ antics for today cos it keeps bleeding, so, since it's cold and raining here today, I decided to console myself with a lovely cup of hot chocolate with some cream on top, and a good book
Ouch! I haven't done that - yet. BUT I have stitched the tips of my machinger glovess into place a few times.
ReplyDeleteOuchy Sue, it reminds me of the time when I was little and I sewed through my nail-not just the nail though, owwww!
ReplyDeleteOuch, ouch. I've heard of people doing that (and I've nicked the edge of a fingernail on a couple of occasions) but never a full-on puncture.
ReplyDeleteHope you're feeling much better soon; never underestimate the restorative power of a mug of hot chocolate :-)
Oh no...but I bet that chocolate is helping you to mend quickly!
ReplyDeleteWow obviously when I FMQ I do not get my hand that close. Maybe that is why mine is awful.
ReplyDeleteOuch I feel your pain, I did this a month ago...just realised a bit of the needle is still in my finger, so be sure to check yours when the bleeding stops.
ReplyDeleteYikes! I've done that more times than I care to admit, feeling your pain.
ReplyDeleteChocolate makes everything better.
ReplyDeleteOw! Sorry to hear about the injury, but glad that you consoled yourself with some chocolate.
ReplyDeleteThe good book and cocoa sound like a good alternative to fmq fun.
ReplyDeleteOuch......been there and done that!
ReplyDeleteI too have been there done that.... hope you heal quickly
ReplyDeleteOh my! I am so sorry! I hope it heals quickly!
ReplyDeleteouch was what first came to mind. Di you not use a quilting foot on the machine? I do not think I would dare try without one. See you saturday?
ReplyDeleteI feel your pain - have you tried taking arnica? It really helps with the bruising. Last time I sewed through my finger (yes, I've done it more than once) I broke the needle and Hubby had to remove it with pliers!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure that was't fun! I hope it heals quickly. Did you have to get a tetanus shot too?
ReplyDeleteSilly girl - you're supposed to quilt the fabric, not your finger. Hope it feels better soon!!
ReplyDeleteYeowchie! I feel your pain! I've rammed the needle into my nail a couple of times and once took a little flap off the corner of my index finger with the rotary cutter! Nothing that has required a good hand surgeon yet though! Knock on wood!
ReplyDeleteOh, ouch!!!!! I hope you heal quickly!! That's why I quilt with both hands on the handles :) Never even got close, but it is always on my mind!!
ReplyDeleteNot good! Hopefully it will heal quickly and you can get back to work. I forget to put bandaids in my sewing room and have been known to wrap fabric scraps around the cuts until I get upstairs for a real bandage. The hot chocolate does look good tho.
ReplyDeleteOh no that must have hurt. Hope it heals quickly.
ReplyDeleteouch! I've done it too and it really smarts!
