Woohoo ....

Okay, am I the only one? ...

I've cleaned the house from top to bottom, all the washing and ironing is done, I've changed all the bedding and there are clean towels everywhere,

What's going on?

Well, we're off on a steam train holiday tomorrow, and I always worry that any burglars who broke in might think I'm a really bad housewife if I didn't leave the house looking good.

  1. I do the same thing and my husband ask why...we won't be here. MEN!!!!

  2. You are so funny Sue! I do the same thing too. If I get hit by a truck while we are gone, I want all our kids to think I was a spotless housekeeper. Have a wonderful holiday!

  3. I think the real reason we do this is that it's such a good feeling coming home after a holiday to a clean house. Have a fabulous time!

  5. Ditto and it drives my husband nuts!!! I love coming home to a clean house plus imagine what the police photos would look like if you left it a mess ;-) Have a great trip.

  7. Too funny - I'm exactly the same. I think it's not so much about potential burglars as wanting to return to a nice, clean house. Have a wonderful trip!

  9. I never go on holiday these days but when I used to I did the same thing, lovely to come back to a neat and tidy home.

  10. Ha, ha, you always make me laugh...I have to say, I don't do that. I leave the house and hope the burglars will clean it while I'm gone! Have a great trip!

  11. I do it! I'm tired when I come home from vacation, and I want a nice clean house awaiting me. Nerver gave much thought to the burglar aspect of it! I hope they don't make a mess while ransacking the place.

  13. Have a great time! This way the house will be clean when you come home. It makes doing all that travel laundry a lot easier.

    Have a super great trip!

  15. I would prefer to be able to tell if a burglar had been in my home or not!!! When I'm not home for a while and hubs is, it rather looks like a bit of a ransacking had taken place during my absence :) Coming home to a clean house is always a huge plus!

  17. Oooo....sounds like a fun trip. And won't it be nice to come home to a clean house (unless of course the burglars mess it up).

  19. So that's where you've been, I'd wondered. Did you take any pictures of your trip?

Personally I clean before a vacation because then I can savor the knowledge of a clean house all through my vacation and then when I get home I can wait a few days before I get back to the daily routine. Oh and I don't want my pet sitter to think we're slobs. LOL
