Because it's STILL snowy and it's STILL cold, I have a new quilt on our bed. This is made from lovely soft brushed cottons and is really snuggly. The block pattern is, I think, called BuzzSaw. I originally planned this as a throw-sized quilt, but when I laid it out on our bed to check the measurements for the backing, I loved it so much that I added extra borders and hey-presto... a bed quilt.
This is the back.

Love the backing fabric you used, it all looks very snuggly and warm.
ReplyDeleteThat's gorgeous, Sue - I bet it's lovely and warm too.
ReplyDeleteBilbo very kindly sent me a small brushed cotton quilt which was Ollie's for my cats - but I confess that they have to share it with me as it is so soft. Still scheming on a way to get her to make me a full size one, although I think that she will tell me to get on with taking up quilting myself... {grin}
Hazel, ha ha, did you realise I always click on the "subscribe to comments" box!
ReplyDeleteI was thinking earlier this week that I probably ought to get you another quilt so that the cats DIDN'T have to share it . . . hadn't realised I needed a Hazel-sized one {giggle}
Another really nice quilt SP.
ReplyDeleteI like the quilting design too.
Enjoy the snuggles.

Ps. It might make you feel better to know, that although it is summer here....it's about 8 degeres tonight and I have my elec blanket on along with thick bed socks. Brrrrrrr
Gorgeous quilt, beautifully quilted, very well chosen block pattern ;o). I've been thinking about making myself a flannel quilt, maybe I'll do one for next winter ...
ReplyDeleteOh that really does look cuddly. those brushed cottons are so soft. I can see why it's your current favorite.
ReplyDeleteGreat visual quilt. Love the quilting too.
ReplyDeleteYour Buzz Saw looks very cuddly and very pretty. I can see why it is your new favorite.
ReplyDeleteThat quilt is so cool (pun intended) and looks like snowflakes. I first thought I hadn't seen that pattern before but when you said the name, I think I remember it as a Thimbleberries pattern. Great job.
ReplyDeleteIt's beautiful Sue - no wonder it's your favourite! I look forward to seeing and stroking it this week!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely gorgeous!! I have a lot of these fabrics!! I love them! So cozy! Well done!
ReplyDeleteTake care!

Awwwe, Another beautiful quilt Sue! Love those flannels, so snuggly, we have one, (certainly not as nice as yours) and my DD just loves to snuggle in it too!
ReplyDeleteIt's cold here too. It's 30 right now which is really cold for 10am in Florida. The sun is not shining either!
ReplyDeleteStay warm and I love the quilt. The quilting design is perfect for it!
That's a really pretty quilt, it looks very warm.
ReplyDeleteWow, Very nice quilt. Love the quilting!
ReplyDeletettfn :) Yuki
Love the Buzz Saw pattern and your fabrics too. I made one but yours has an extra piece added to make that pinwheel in the middle. Love that.
ReplyDeleteI love you new favorite quilt! It looks toasty. I like the center pinwheel. Great fabric choices too.
ReplyDeleteLove it Sue!!!
ReplyDeleteOh, Sue! The quilt is gorgeous! We must have a lot of the same in taste for quilts, because every one of your "favorites" you show up here are absolutely to die for....
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!

That looks fantastic Sue! I do like those jagged edged blocks. I don't know why I've never done one. I have a couple of lots of jelly rolls so I might get out of my comfort zone and try!
ReplyDeleteI really like this one and I think my mom has a quilt with a very similar flannel backing -- it's toasty!
ReplyDeleteAre you enjoying the snow? I love it but we've got a lot of ice too and it makes walking somewhat hazardous. Keith and I are just waiting to see who falls first this season. Both of us had near misses tonight after dinner.
