...... so I can't tell you what I'm working on at the moment, so I thought I'd show you some pictures of a quilt I am especially proud of. It is hand quilted and the design started from the Sanderson Star in the centre, and I just made it up as I went along from there on. It's a queen size quilt and it took me about 6 months from start to finish in 2004 - 2005. It was difficult to get good photos, but I think you can see it fairly well in these pictures if you click on them to get a larger view.
Oh beautiful...i used to be a hand quilter...that is a lot of quilting and I think 6 months is pretty quick work. wow!
ReplyDeleteOh we can keep a secret..do tell. (wink)
I agree, six months is not too shabby.
ReplyDeleteSo pretty - just like your secrets {smile}!
Sue, It's gorgeous! I can't believe it only took you six months. I really admire hand quilting.
ReplyDeleteIt looks wonderful. I've never hand quilted anything that large.
ReplyDeleteWow! If the front is as pretty as the back, you've got a really great quilt there!
ReplyDeleteWOW!! It is beautiful!! Shall I send you my address, it would look absolutely wonderful on my bed! (wink, wink)
ReplyDeletep.s. how is mr. fixit doing?
The quilting is absolutely lovely. I love the quiet of hand quilting though I don't do much anymore. I've never been really good at it, but have done plenty anyhow. It's especially fun with many women around the frame, but that seems to be something of a bygone era--at least for me anyhow. Can't wait to see your surprise.
ReplyDeleteWow Sue, you should be proud. It's beautiful. You English quilter are so good at hand quilting. Thanks for sharing - Hugs Nat
