Another busy day …

20111009_2Today I have made the remaining 2 quilt backings and their bindings.
I know I said yesterday that I had 6 tops waiting, but I can't count.  I had five.  Anyway, they're all ready now for when Big Bertha comes out to play.

2 Dec 2009. 2 Do you remember this picture?  It was taken as we were having our back garden remodelled in December 2009.

20111009_1Now compare it to this one.  Looks very similar doesn't it? Yep, this weekend, while I was having fun at the Christmas QAL and Mr Fixit was in his workshop, poor Ken, the gardener, started on remodelling our front garden.  Oh dear, what can I say?  Sorry Ken, is probably the only thing.

  3. I definitely need a Ken, too. I don't mind doing the work -- just have trouble deciding what to do, and knowing how to do it properly. :-)

Can't wait to see Bertha work her magic!

  4. At least it's the gardner who is outside and not you! The outdoor in the dirt stuff doesn't have much appeal to me, can you tell?

Sounds like Bertha might be coming out soon?!

  5. Yep, I need a Ken, too. Five quilts to work on is still a nice big pile to keep you and Bertha busy.

  6. I'm glad you have Ken to do the work. If he did the back you'll have a beautiful front yard. Looks like Bertha will be busy when she does come out to play.

  8. Ken and LP could compare notes about working in wet and muddy gardens. At least you have the sense to keep out of yours and leave him to get on with it!

  9. Pairing up backings with tops is getting them one step closer to finished! I used to wait until I was ready to load a quilt of mine before piecing the backing but always seemed to pick another one that already had the backing done so the secret to getting my tops quilting is making sure I piece the backs ahead of time.

  10. Looks like everybody needs a Ken! :) I might need him too, especially now since we are heading towards the hot and humid season. I have bindings to do too as well as quilting, my Nina will be busy! :)

  14. Looking forward to seeing the five quilts when they are completed. Big Bertha is going to be very busy. Looking forward to what Ken, the gardener, does with the front garden. The back was gorgeous. Thank you for sharing.

    Have a super great day.

  15. Yes, I'd like Ken to come and visit my yard too!! If the front turns out even half as nice as the back you'll have a matched set of amazing views!
