Normal service ...

... can be resumed now.

I spent almost a week down south with my son's family, and came home on Monday afternoon, then, because I am diabetic, I have to have an annual retinal eye check, which was yesterday.  The hospital put drops in my eyes, to enlarge my pupils so they can take photos of the retinas.  The drops also mean that I can't bear the light for a few hours, and nor can I focus on anything, so I spent most of yesterday sitting in my armchair, with the curtains closed, listening to the TV.  The good bit was that Mr Fixit cooked dinner.  My eyes are still a bit sore today, and the vision is not quite right yet, but I reckon that by tomorrow I'll be back to what passes for normal.

  1. Welcome back Sue. I hope your eyes get back to normal soon so you can quilt......but not too soon so Mr. Fixit has the opportunity to prepare dinner again!

  2. Glad to have you back! Do everything the doctor says so that you can get back to your sewing room sooner than later!

  3. It's good that you're taking care of your eyes!
My eye doctor takes the retinal photos once of year (I don't have diabetes, but macular degeneration runs in my family). The last time I had it done, it seemed like it was taking FOREVER for my eyes to get back to where I could at least focus again! I was getting frustrated and even had my sister come pick me up in her car because there was no way I could drive. After sitting for about an hour and still unable to even see the television well enough to enjoy it, I realized that I had gone in wearing contacts and came out without them. All I had to do was put my glasses on! I felt a little stupid to say the least!

  8. Your a good girl to go and get your eyes checked. I hope you are feeling much better now. I had that done and get this; I asked if I would be able to drive afterwards and the receptionist said yes. I had my 11 year old with me and eyes hurt so bad I could barely see to drive home. The light reflecting off the other cars hurt so bad. I had to squint and cover my eyes and look only at my lane. I asked my dd to let me know if someone was signaling to move over into our lane. Yikes! Next time I'll bring a driver with me.
