You remember I was appliqueing a sort of red English rose, which is my national flower, on some blocks? Well here is another block, but this one has a representation of a yellow California poppy. I am going to scatter 5 roses and 5 poppies around the quilt.
I thought that it would be fun to reflect both Lynn's and my countries.
Nice touch to do the rose & the poppy. It's all coming together really well.
ReplyDeleteLove the background fabric you have chosen. What a great idea to use both flowers!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty, Sue!
ReplyDeleteAppliqueing the flowers from both of our countries is very touching Sue! Thank you.

ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely idea and it looks great with that background. Take care and wonder how you will quilt it?
ReplyDeleteYou and Lynn give me quite a chuckle. In my minds eye I see you two in some sort of reality quilty show challenge...too cute, both of you! Love how its coming together.
ReplyDeleteNice idea of using the flowers. It's a stunner already.
ReplyDeletePerfect background fabric for this quilt ! It is going to be gorgeous!

ReplyDeleteHee...I can just imagine the two of you imitating Howard Keel and Betty Hutton singing that! Now....which one of you wants to play Howard? Seriously, Sue, your Heartfire is just gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteCheers!
