(Gail is Lynn's sister, and we became good friends while I was staying with Lynn.) Anyway, Gail decided to join my 3D Noughts and Crosses class that I taught while I was in California, and this is her quilt so far. I am not usually a fan of batiks, but these are just gorgeous, and you really do get the 3D effect and if you click on the picture to enlarge it, you will also see just how perfect her piecing is, every pointy bit is beautifully pointy. I know that Gail likes it, and I think it's fantastic, so I asked if I could post the picture on my blog as Gail doesn't have one of her own (yet). I can't wait to see this with it's borders on too, but meanwhile, I love it just as it is.
OHHHHH WOW!!!
ReplyDeleteGail's quilt is absolutely gorgeous in the picture and even more spectacular in person! Great design Sue.
ReplyDeleteWow, this looks so fantastic.
ReplyDeleteWonderful work from Gail.
Greetings Grit
Thanks so much for your post, Sue, and your nice words! I had so much fun doing this quilt and watching it take shape. I really enjoyed your class and learned a lot from you, not to mention getting to listen to your wonderful British accent! I promise to get back to the borders as soon as I finish Country Charmer. I'll send you another update then.
ReplyDeleteWow the 3D looks is very effective, looks great.
ReplyDeleteoh I love it too!
ReplyDeleteWow, that looks wonderful, Gail.
ReplyDeleteI'm not a big fan of batiks either as I don't like the feel, but do like their wonderful colours.
The quilt is so dimensional in look. Nice! Years ago, I made a quilt for my son that used blocks much like this. I did it in bright colors. It was so not my color range.
ReplyDeleteWonderful quilt!! Love the look of it, very dimensional and interesting! Great color choice as well! Well done!! Thank you for sharing!
ReplyDeleteHave a super great sewing and stitching day!
