Spot the Difference ....

The block on the right is 1/2" smaller than the one on the right.  That's what happens when I sew when not feeling well!  5 blocks, all wrong.  I only discovered it when I tried to sew them alternately with the other, correct, blocks.  Eeekkkk.  What had I done?  Well, see those pinwheels in the centre?  They're the problem.  I made them, pressed them and before I trimmed them I checked on the computer exactly what size they should be.  It said 6", finished, so what did I do?  Cut them to 6 " UN-finished.  Today was spent making more blocks to the right size.

If you're looking for the giveaway, it's just below this post.

  2. Oh! I didn't even notice the size at first, I noticed they 'spin' in opposite directions. LOL Sorry you had some re-sewing! :-/ I love the colors~ so cheery! Hopefully today goes smoothly! :-)

  4. So sorry Sue...I think this happens to all of us, from time to time. Especially when we are tired or not feeling well. Still, both of these blocks are absolutely beautiful. I'm sure you'll find good use for all of them, even the blocks in off sizes (e.g. on the back or in another quilt). Can't wait to see the top when you get it finished. Going to be lovely!

  8. Oh no, how frustrating. They are beautiful so I think it will be worth sewing them all over again.

  10. They're cute blocks! I'm sure you'll find a good use for the smaller ones.

I'd like to tell you that my blocks always come out the right size but that simply isn't true.

  11. I find that quilting late at night, I best call it quits after the first mistake because after that, it just goes down hill. :) Your colors are great!! ;)
