... Why?
Well, yesterday the postie brought me a lovely package with some great fabrics in it. My problem? I can't remember what I planned to do with them!
I know I ordered them for a particular reason, but I'm blowed if I can remember what. Anyone else ever do things like that?
You are not alone. I puzzle over it, then use it for a new project and finally remember what I ordered it for. I think it is my brain's way of keeping me ordering fabric.
ReplyDeleteYou are no fool, not that I've done this myself. Show us the fabrics and we might be able to come up with some alternative suggestions, though I think one of Kims quilts from her new book might be a good guess :)
ReplyDeleteI buy fabrics, keep them in the bag (at least I get that part right), then can't remember what I was going to make. However, I now try to put the pattern with the bag of fabric or even in a nice plastic tote so when I get around to making the quilt, everything is all together. Now I can't wait to see what you make with it.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds to me like you have entirely too much fabric, and too many projects. If you can't remember why you bought it, why don't you send it to me, and I'll figure out something to do with it. LOL!
ReplyDeleteAnyone else ever do things like that?
ReplyDeleteall the time, dear girl - how do you think I amassed such a large stash!!!
Oh, yea! That sounds familiar!! It'll come to you in the middle of the night for sure.....
ReplyDeleteOh my have I ever! I've bought fabric with a specific project in mind. If I don't put a pattern with it, I surely do not remember what it was for :-(
ReplyDeleteJust all the time. It is so frustrating. You will think of what you bought the fabric for at the oddest of moments.
ReplyDeleteHave a super great sewing and stitching day.
Too funny!! Sorry to find humor in your forgetfulness....just seems all to familiar with myself.
ReplyDeleteWhen i order something, i print out the order to sheet so I can make sure I get my order for one, and I also write on it what it is for, so when the order comes in, I know what it is for, and I can put the order sheet with the order, so then it is off my desk and tells me what it is for...
ReplyDeleteStop worrying - you've got new fabric! That always makes my day.
ReplyDeleteYou'll remember as soon as you use them for another project!
ReplyDeletehahaha! Just having them is fun enough!! Hope you are feeling better.
ReplyDeleteI am sure it will come to you soon!!!
ReplyDeleteThere's my smile for the day Sue! Seriously, I thought I was the only fool LOL! Great to be in such good company.
ReplyDeleteHate it when I have that problem!!!
ReplyDeleteLOL, sounds like they need to sit and stew for a month and if you still don't recall after that amount of time, I'd say it's fair game for a new and lovely cause.
ReplyDeleteNot me, as yet - I'm still at the clutching-the-quilt-pattern-whilst-glued-to-the-window-impatiently-waiting-for-the-postman stage of my quilting career!
ReplyDeletePS tip for remembering things - sit in a boring-but-vital meeting where (crucially) you don't have a pen to hand. Amazing what you remember, and can't write down. Of course, the result is that you will take in nothing from the important meeting, and the moment you walk out, you lose hold of that remembered thought!
LOL, just think...you get to plan something brand new! Planning is fun ;)
ReplyDeleteLOL!! Ummm, yes.
ReplyDeleteAre you kidding? I have bundles of pieces of fabric together in plastic bags for projects... just don't quite remember what pattern I was going to use?????
ReplyDeleteALL the time!! I even bought those half square triangle paperrolls for a pattern calling for them...wish I knew which pattern??? I'm sure when I find the pattern I won't be able to find the HST papers!! It's a vicious cycle!! :o)
