Christmas QAL, part 2

... I've done some sewing, look
and that's all I'm showing of these "things" for now.

I have had a visit from Mrs Nomad and we had a lovely chat.

I've prepared dinner. In fact, I had to laugh at myself about dinner.  Last month on QAL Saturday I made Boozy Beef in Beaujolais, today I'm doing pork in cider. What's with all the alcohol I wonder?

I've also spent far too long looking for a recipe online that I have used before for cinnamon rolls.  It was a simple recipe, which did not use yeast and which had a nice icing on top, but I seem to have deleted the bookmark!  Grr.

  2. For someone who drank nothing but water when they were here you seem to have gone off the rails recently!

  3. Yes, it does seem like a trend with your dinner choices. Now the challenge for you is to keep it up for October, November, etc. We'll be waiting to see what you cook up:)

  4. Ha ha! Joanna's right - I'll chuck in the suggestion of Coq au Vin, but after that, you're on your own!

  5. Coq au Vin for October, Christmas Pudding with Rum Custard or Brandy Butter in December, just leaves November.

    Hmmm, about Crepes Suzette?

She can practice on her Very Important Visitors during October just to make sure she's got the recipe right!

    (running away, ducking!)

  6. That's red and green, evidently not part of the QAL!! Are we going to get a look at your apricot piece?
alcohol actually tenderises the meat, so that is why you are using it. (giggle).

  7. A little cooking at the cabin seems like a yummy proposition to me...but since you will be on Official Queen Duty...I suppose that would just be rude!

  8. Oh dear...the rumbly in my tumbly had me sidetracked...is that little peek of red and green what I think it is?

  9. I'd opt for sherry trifle in November. I love the sneak peak of green and red.

  10. Last evening, I realized I was participating in the Christmas Sew-Along and didn't even know it. I started a small Christmas wall hanging. I realized at bedtime that I should have joined in with you this time.

  13. I too joined you - but didn't post. I'm helping my granddaughters with their Christmas Stocking. Hopefully, next time I'll join. Such a tiny little piece that you are showing us! I do hate when I lose a good recipe!
