....... if you need it, that I am an idiot.
Today I had a casserole planned for dinner this evening, and was timing it so we could sit down with it and watch the Grand Prix Qualifying session at the same time. Sounds good on a chilly evening, yes? Well that's what we thought. Except.... I managed to lose an hour somehow this afternoon, so dinner was ready at 5 instead of 6 pm.
Oh dear, poor Mr Fixit, I feel very sorry for him having to live with me, I'm such an idiot!
Mr. Fixit is probably thankful to have dinner prepared for him, no matter what time. :)
ReplyDeleteThat's all right....we have dinner at 5:00!! Be right over...!

Not a problem - casseroles are well-behaved and could be turned off and left for an hour. You should have told the family you did this deliberately in order for the flavours to mature and develop!
ReplyDeleteBetter cooked early than not ready when you wanted it.
(have been in the loft all day, yuk, wish I'd had a casserole ready for me but that sort of forward planning doesn't happen very often ....)
You know, not to ruin your special moment or anything but, ummm, this sounds exactly like some of the stupid stuff I do! And there's no reason for it either. Just lose my head, space out, whatever...
ReplyDeleteBilbo, you are right about the casserole. The real problem is that I had just finished cooking the potatoes for the mash when I realised, and they don't really keep!
ReplyDeleteIf your Mr Fixit is anything like my OH, the earlier the better ... but you know what you should have done - put the clocks back and grumbled about the GP being on later than scheduled ;o).
ReplyDeleteWell, at our house when things are done at different times, we just say that we are serving courses for the meal. So, you had the potato course before the main course.
ReplyDeleteYour not an idiot..dinner was made...bet he was thankful. LOL
ReplyDeleteI agree with Quilt Hollow, you are not an idiot! And I love mashed potato with a crispy top to it! Yummy, have to fight for the crispy bits in this house. Great job getting it all planned, prepared and ready! I hope you all enjoyed it :o)
ReplyDeleteYikes it must have been the week for "ooops" as I had my own trouble with some cookies on Friday.
ReplyDeleteMom's been cooking for me and it's been nice!
ReplyDeleteIf that's the worst mistake you made, then You should be a VERY happy quilter! Food's always better earlier than LATER!
