One down ...

... three to go.
Here is the nameless red and yellow quilt that I made on one of the Christmas Quiltalong days.  I have mixed feelings about this quilt.  I love the design, and I have always wanted a red and yellow Christmas quilt.  These fabrics were brighter (much, much brighter) than I wanted, but I had to use them as I didn't have time to get any more before the Quiltalong.  Anyway, being me, finished making the top, and decided I didn't like it at all, it was much too bright.  Being me though, I decided it was going to be quilted and finished, even if it then spent the rest of its life in a cupboard.  So yesterday, I set Bertha to work on it.
Now I've finished quilting it and taken it off the frame, and guess what?  I love it now.  When I looked at the photo, I could see what looked like Christmas Crackers in it, so that's what this quilt is now called, and we'll have no wisecracks about Sue's Crackers, thank you.

  2. It is beautiful. Aren't you glad you stuck with it and didn't hide it in some closet. I made a quilt for my sister-in-law that was very bright...orange, purple, lime green. I was almost embarrassed to give it to her because it was so bright. But I told her I wanted something that would match her personality: bright, cheerful, fun and exciting.

  7. I think you are a bit like me...can't stand having an unfinished project!

I love bright and cheery, and usually tend to go to them first at shows and such. I just need to be brave enough to try some more often!

    This is a fun quilt!

  22. I can tell you and speaking from experience....the nine patch center quilt I have on my side bar of my blog was a top I thought for sure would never be quilted. I wasn't impressed with my top after all the work. It was one of the first things I quilted on Gam...I needed tops to practice on....I LOVE IT! The quilting really can make a top and I bet this is what happened with yours too right?!! It is wonderful...fresh, bright and cheerful!!
