Oh botheration.........

I am an idiot - and that's official.

I intended to show two quilts in the Great Northern Quilt Show in Harrogate this September, but, even though someone reminded me, I forgot to send in my application forms in time. How stupid can I get?

The quilts I was going to show, would have been Leaves Around the Cabins (if I got it back from the publisher in time) or Sunny Days and either True Scrappy or My Flannel quilt.

For those who have not seen them before, here are photos of Sunny Days, before it was quilted with an allover 4-leaf clover pattern,

and My Flannel quilt

  2. Oh botherations indeed - because there goes MY grand plan to support Harrogate - like you, I planned to enter a quilt, any quilt, in the hope that more entries would encourage the organiser to keep running the event.

After what you told me about the 2008 show I fear we might not have the chance in 2010

  3. What a shame - it would have been lovely to see your quilts hanging there.

I have vaguely thought about entering but haven't been organised enough to even get an application form. Hopefully next year....

  4. Oh Sue, that is frustrating, and your quilts are so lovely. Maybe there should be a virtual blog quilt show?

  5. I have done the same thing. Not paying attention to the date that the paperwork needs to be in before a quilt show.

  6. Have you contacted them to see if they will accept a late entry?
    Worth a try?
    Good luck :o)

  7. Oh Sue! if it's anything like FoQ the forms of intention and then acceptance have to be in months in advance - but as Rosalind says - try contacting them -it might not be too late.......finger crossed!

  8. I hadn't thought of contacting them, thanks for the suggestion Rosalind. I will try that. I'm not going to hold my breath though!

  10. I'm a little late, but wanted to tell you how pretty your quilts are! I love Sunny Days! The pieced border is fabulous, and the colors are delightful.

Hope everything works out with the registration. It would be a shame for everyone to miss out on these!
