I forgot all about potatoes as I was so excited to open the box, and when I did, just look at what I found inside.
I have always loved Paulette's wool work and am totally in awe of the penny rug she had made for me. It's even got a sunflower on, which is probably my favourite flower in the world. On their journey, the chickens had even laid some eggs, well, OK they hadn't, they were cute little egg-shaped pebbles from the beach near her and they brought me some Canadian chocolate and as if that wasn't enough, there was a lovely little scissor fob of turquoise with my initial on, so no-one can pinch my scissors again.
Also in the box was the quilt top I am going to let Bertha play with. I think it is gorgeous, and just hope we can do it justice. It looks good on my sofa though, so perhaps I'll keep it and tell her it got lost in the post when I sent it back. She'll believe that, won't she?
So now you see why the title of this post is "Bartering at it's Best"
You are right, that is the best kind of barter. Has Bertha told you yet what she is going to do on that lovely quilt top?
ReplyDeleteWooHoo!!!!! Have fun working your magic with Bertha. :-)
ReplyDeleteI love Paulette's wool work, as well. Sigh!
I love blogger trades like this and your wall hanging so pretty and the details!
ReplyDeleteHappy Quilting (if you keep it she'll so know what you're up to!)

ReplyDeletethe penny rug is so cute!
That penny rug is cute. I have always wanted to try that!
ReplyDeleteooh they are both lovely - what a great barter. I bartered quilting for a rocking horse a few years back.
ReplyDeleteWhat system do you have btw?
I agree, how fun for you two...
ReplyDeleteLove the quilt!
Both beauties, what a great barter this is! Look forward to seeing Bertha's magic on this one!
ReplyDeleteWow rhe penny rug is amazing - I just love those chickens!. I know Bertha will do a fantastic job on the quilt too.
ReplyDeleteYou and Bertha have a good time on that beautiful quilt. I love the penny rug also with the eggs all around the border. What a clever (a word I picked up from my English granddaughter...everything that summer was "clevah". She insisted all English teenagers used that word for everything remarkable) barter.
ReplyDeleteWow, what a lovely postie? I posted about Xmas quilt-a-long this morning and hope a few more will join us - Hugs Nat
ReplyDeleteYour bartering is a win/win for both of you! What a gorgeous penny rug and a gorgeous quilt. No surprise there as I'm so very fond of red. Any idea how you'll quilt it?
ReplyDeleteGorgeous rug and I can't wait to see what Bertha does with that lovely quilt top
ReplyDeleteLove and hugs Gina xxx
