Christmas Stars .............

........... this is what I was working on yesterday.  The pattern is in Kim's fabulous book, Scrapbasket Surprises where it's called Summer Breeze.  It certainly went together like a breeze.  Although it's scrappy, in that I used a jelly roll, I did have to exercise some control over it, so I kept all my stars the same colour rather than random and in the other blocks I put the 2 light colours next to each other in the middle.  I have still got to add the borders, and, they are pieced and scrappy, so that is going to be a challenge to me to not try and match them up too much.  What was that?  Did I hear someone call me a control freak?  No, I knew I was mistaken.

  11. Christmas Stars is just wonderful, fantastic. It looks bright and cheery as well as Christmasy. Great work. Everyone is so ahead of me on the Christma sew along. I have to get through my eye surgery before I can think Christmas. Do enjoy see what has been done so far.

  12. Wow, you really accoomplished a lot for a day! Most the time I am a bit controlled myself. I have really had to push myself to do scrap quilts trying to get rid of some of the bits and pieces of my stash. Oh, and thank you for the idea of that rail fence quilt. It went together so easily and looks great. Next time I may use smaller blocks and use it for a baby quilt.

  15. A Quilter that needs control? No, really? ...never... The jelly roll added just the right touch of scrappy.

  16. Pot ... kettle ... black ... shalln't be commenting on the scrappiness or otherwise of your quilt :o). I love what you've done, and to do that in the day is very impressive. My fabric should be here tomorrow, I'll definitely be joining in next month. Are you going to finish this quilt now, or do you have to wait for the next sew-a-long to do that??
